Mission:

Money Smart Schools

As a BOE member, David Hodas will work to support Kinnelon schools in being the best they can be to help build a brighter future for the whole community. That means upholding the following pillars and ensuring that the Kinnelon Public School District is home to Money Smart Schools.

FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY

Dave understands the financial challenges facing Kinnelon schools, and he is ready to meet them head on with clear eyes and a balanced budget. He will work with the Board to identify opportunities to save and set spending priorities to ensure taxpayer dollars are used wisely.

SCHOOL & BUS SAFETY

Our children’s safety is of the utmost importance to Dave. To that end, he will prioritize maintaining a safe environment for all Kinnelon students on school grounds, as well as anywhere the School District is responsible for our kids.

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE

Another worthy investment: Kinnelon teachers and staff. A top priority for Dave will be retaining and recruiting top-tier talent. He will also help ensure Kinnelon schools invest in the programs, resources, and tools necessary to build a brighter future for our children and the community.

STUDENT WELLBEING

Recognizing that a safe environment is more than just physical, Dave vows to advocate for effective practices and resources to support and foster a positive school culture that encourages all students to learn, grow, and thrive together.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Stronger together is more than just a pithy slogan. Dave believes that a strong partnership between Kinnelon residents and schools – with transparency and open and regular two-way communication – is the key to building a thriving community. Many hands make light work.

LEADERSHIP ACCOUNTABILITY

As a leader, Dave is committed to bringing a collaborative, level-headed, and community-focused approach to the table, keeping himself and the rest of the BOE team accountable and always working with the best interests of Kinnelon’s students and families in mind.
